FSC Introduces Handbook on Offshore Management
In order to facilitate the application of a global business license by service providers and to improve the licensing process, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) presented the ‘Guide to Global Business’ on Wednesday at FSC house, Ebene.

The minister of Finance and Economic Develpment Xavier-Luc Duval described the financial services sector as one of the country’s success stories. “We are working in collaboration with FSC and the Board of Investment (BoI) to increase our visibility on the international financial market,” he said.

He added that the guide is an important tool to ensure greater compliance by offshore management companies. The minister also mentioned the reasons why Mauritius is being viewed as a gateway to Africa. These include low risk in investment, rule of law (right to property, litigation), low fiscal jurisdiction and excellent communication.

“This guide is a dynamic working tool and is not static. It will be updated as we develop new products or as we improve processes with the FSC,” highlighted Clairette Ah-Hen, CEO, FSC.
