The investigation into the scandal of residence permits granted by the Board Of Investment (BOI) is making great strides. The Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) arrested Iqbal Mohabuth Reunion and Jean Francelin Taye this Tuesday, July 10, 2012. They are accused of forgery and uttering forged documents, according to the lawyer of one of two suspects.
Iqbal Mohabuth was heard Tuesday, July 10, 2012 for more than six hours to CCID, in Port Louis. The suspect, who has retained the services of Mr. Ashley Hurranghee, gave details about his contacts within the BOI or other institutions to facilitate licensure by foreigners.
Iqbal Mohabuth is considered an intermediate in the trafficking network uncovered on June 17. Investigators questioned him about his involvement in this matter.
