Second Edition of the ICT BPO Conference: Mauritius Wants to Encourage Operators to Export to Africa

The second edition of the conference ICT / BPO, which will be held in September, aims to propel the operators of Information Technologies and Communication of the African continent.

The conference, which runs over three days, will count on the support of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.Despite the controversy that had arisen in the first edition of the ICT BPO Conference in 2011 with allegations of embezzlement and misuse of public funds, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) has decided to repeat event with a second edition held at the Hilton Resort and Spa in Flic-en-Flac on 12, 13 and 14 September.

Thus, this second edition will encourage exchanges between operators and those of Mauritius African continent. At the Ministry of ICT, we are convinced that the ICT sector has reached a considerable level which can now allow operators to export to Africa. It is in this context that this conference can count on the presence of a delegation of the United Economic Commission for Africa (UECA), which will aim to facilitate interaction between operators Mauritian and African states.

Such a conference may also count on the participation of the Deputy Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Houlin Zhao of Tashkovich Gligor, former minister of foreign investments in the Republic of Macedonia.
