Police Launches Crimestoppers Plan to Report Crimes 24h/24

The police presented Wednesday morning October 24 a plan called Crimestoppers. It invites the public to report and denounce any suspicious activity anonymously on one number, 148.
This new strategy against crime was presented on Wednesday morning, the central barracks by Mario Nobin, deputy commissioner of police in charge of police operations. The Crimestoppers Scheme is part of the same logic as community policing, said Mario Nobin. " We hope that people will participate in the Scheme Crimestoppers in our fight against crime , "he added.
The 148 is operational 24h/24, seven days a week, since this morning. This is a number that gives access to the Office of the Commissioner of Police. Depending on the nature of the offense, the complaint information reported is then relayed to the appropriate department, the Emergency Response Services, the Anti-Drug & Smuggling Unit or Crime Investigation Division.
As part of this plan, the police will contribute its cameras. When a crime is reported, it will check the area on the screen where it takes place.
