The authorities met to review the situation and it was decided that most of the reservoirs have a high enough water level for the cuts to be eased. The decision affects the whole island which was initially affected by the previous cuts.
The chairman of CWA, Prem Saddul stated that the water reserve has improved by six per cent compared to the same period last year.
While two reservoirs, namely the Piton du Milieu and La Nicolière are at 100 per cent, the biggest reservoir, Mare-aux-Vacoas sits at 83.7 per cent. However, he made an appeal for water to be used judiciously.
Meanwhile, the bout of heavy downpour experienced by the island lately seemed to be easing off as rain gauges across registered significantly less rain over Monday and Tuesday.
