Weather: Heavy Waves Continue Monday
Since Friday, Mauritius is on alert for heavy swells. According to the meteorological station of Vacoas, swells 3.5 to 4 meters were recorded Friday afternoon. Thus, the weather calls for vigilance and the public is advised not to risk into sea warning heavy swells will continue on Monday.

Sandhya Dindoyal, forecaster at the meteorological station of Vacoas, told the Le Matinal as heavy swells are caused by the presence of a zone of extra-tropical low pressure south of the Mascarene Islands. Thus, many coastal areas are under threat of heavy swells, including lagoons of West, South and East.

Swells may invade the beaches, especially at a time of rising tides on Monday. Faced with this danger, the weather station of Vacoas recommends the utmost vigilance.
