High Absenteeism in SC and HSC...
Many students taking part in the exams School Certificate and Higher School Certificate are no longer going to school since they received their time-table. So much so that the Ministry of Education and the main unions met last week to discuss the problem. Their proposal: revise the school calendar.

Absenteeism reaching 100% in state colleges. Students of private colleges also absent more. "Students do not come to school since they received their time-table " says Yahya Paraouty, president of the Union of Private Secondary Education Employees (UPSEE). The reason given: the great revisions.

However, the Ministry of Education has come forward with the " compressed time-table "at the beginning of the third quarter. In fact, the students were encouraged to go to school three times a week for intensive courses. But this, it seems, no longer works.

Thus, at a meeting held last week, the unions proposed to the Ministry of Education to review the school calendar. And in order to adapt them to the month in which most students are absent. This proposal is still under consideration.
