Trade on Beaches: Several Permits Canceled
The Beach Authority had to cancel licenses it was about to deliver to traders wishing to operate on the beaches. This is what Le Express has learned from a source close to the Government House.

The trigger: a meeting last week between the Ministry of Housing and Lands and the Regional Administrations. And Beach Authority had to backtrack. It cancelled permits "Beach Hawker" it was about to deliver.

Both departments have asked the BA to stop the proceedings. For several days, the Ministry of Housing and Lands has served an eviction order to traders , particularly in the region of Flic-en-Flac. BA falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Local Government had given them a license to "beach hawker" to operate in this range.

Furthermore Flic-en-Flac, the Ministry of Housing and Lands performs an inventory of public beaches in the country to crack. One hundred people are involved. According to this source, it is likely that these traders will be relocated to specific areas to avoid cluttering the beaches.
