A first in history. A woman was elected Lord Mayor, this Thursday, December 26. Dorine Chuckowry, Councillor MMM succeeds Aslam Hosenally. Accordance with the wishes of the opposition, the three mayors of the MMM-MSM had resigned Friday, Dec. 20, their mandate being only one year.
