The UoM Acquires New Building in Ebony

"We want Mauritians have opportunities for higher education. But unfortunately we cannot accommodate the lack of space. We already have 13,000 students on campus Collapsed. This building will accommodate up to Ebony 3000 students in the coming years especially those who begin new programs. The ground floor of the building at a cost of Rs 40 million has been furnished while UoM must find funds to furnish the rest of the building. In addition to classrooms, the building has an auditorium seating 400 people.

Professor Soodursun Jugessur said the Alumni UoM will soon be registered as an association and will be called upon to contribute in the management of the building. "The Alumni UoM intends to develop a sense of belonging and brotherhood among the alumni of the UoM and those who are currently studying. The Alumni has a duty vis-à-vis this university because it is thanks to this institution they work and make progress in life, "said Soodursun Jugessur.

In addition to the new courses offered, new faculty on Ocean Studies' which are in line with the ocean economy will be established. "We are surrounded by the sea and do not exploit enough. Through these programs, students can work in various branches of ocean economy.
