'' The Global Financial Centres Index 2014'', published by the British consulting firm Z/Yen up the Mauritian financial center in the 63rd position out of 83.

New York is in the first place as an international financial center, while Mauritius is ahead of Dublin which is in the 66th spot. Mauritius is overtaken by other centers such as Panama, Casablanca or the Bahamas. The latest ranking are Madrid, Moscow, Prague, Cyprus, Lisbon and Athens. Some European cities have fallen in this list, including Copenhagen, Dublin, Rome and Madrid, while London appears in the'' Top 50'' financial centers.

The '' Top 10'' are New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich, Tokyo, Seoul, Boston, Geneva and San Francisco. Financial centers in the Middle East have also got a good ranking, like Qatar, Dubai and Riyadh are in the 26th, 27th and 31st place respectively.

The Global Financial Centres Index is an annual publication of the British consulting firm Z/Yen. In the latter survey, which was completed in December 2013, 3 246 financial services professionals were interviewed for 24 months. They had 25,441 assessments across many different financial centers.
