Vaccination Campaign Against Influenza Launched..
With the arrival of winter in Mauritius, many people are exposed to the flu, including the elderly.

Approximately 80 000 people are affected. Therefore, the Ministry of Social Security is organizing a campaign of vaccination against influenza. The official launch of the anti-flu campaign in 2014 will take place on Wednesday. The kickoff will be given by the Minister of Social Security, Sheila Bappoo, the Municipality of Vacoas-Phoenix. The vaccination campaign will start on the same day at Goodlands, La Gaulette, Rivière-Noire and Baie-du-Cap.

The ministry has already finalized a vaccination schedule. Thus, the exercise will take place in 80 regions of the country and will take a month to be completed on

April 30. The vaccination program is under the supervision of a team of doctors and paramedical staff of the ministry. According to the Ministry, 85,000 doses were purchased for an amount of Rs 10 million. Last year, 75,000 doses were purchased for a sum of Rs 7.9 million.
