Back to school: The 2nd trimester, preparation stage for major exams

Primary and secondary schools resume classes at the same time and have virtually the same objective, in particular the preparation of candidates for the major national and Cambridge exams.

"Even though the modular assessment for Grade 6 is scheduled for the beginning of the third term, teachers will do everything to best prepare the students before the end of the term," said Vishal Baujeet, president of the Government Teachers' Union.

The latter also explains that the procedures for the teacher transfer exercise will take place during the second quarter. However, Vishal Baujeet recalls that the transfer of teachers will not be effective until January 2024.

As for the colleges, the second quarter, underlines Harrish Reedoy, president of the Union of Deputy Rectors and Rectors, will see the organization of mock exams for the candidates having to take part this year in the tests of National Certificate of Education, School Certificate and Cambridge Higher School Certificate. From the first days of the new school year, he said, secondary schools will also prepare the calendar of extracurricular activities.
