Privatization of casinos
Minister Padayachy announced that the consulting firm of KPMG Advisory Services has been retained as Transactional Adviser for the privatization of casinos in Mauritius.

Indeed, previous attempts, started in April 2022, have failed so far.

For the first financial year, four out of seven submissions were accepted with the entities concerned to expand their offers. The improved offers following a new call dated January 12 were not expected to live up to expectations, with the Transactional Adviser deciding to put an end to the privatization procedures.

However, on November 10, the procedures were restarted.

Upon further questioning from MP Ritesh Ramful, the minister made it clear that the State Investment Corporation (SIC) will see to what extent it can honor the requests of casino employees in terms of salary revision and payment of other bonuses.
