A 39-year-old civil servant assigned to the Ministry of Commerce was allegedly the victim of an attack at his home on Friday and accuses the Minister of the Civil Service of having slapped him.

He took a statement Saturday at Goodlands Police Station.

We contacted the minister's press secretary who said he did not want to make a statement at this stage.

The alleged victim maintains, in his statement, that the incident took place around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, when a minister, whom he knows personally, and two police officers, allegedly attacked him at his home.

He says he noted missed calls from the Minister of the Civil Service on his phone a few minutes earlier.

This 39-year-old civil servant said he was slapped by the two police officers and the minister.

He says he was not seriously injured, but that he has pain in his face and chest. He went to Goodlands Mediclinic to treat his injuries.

According to him, this alleged attack is a reaction to a message he sent to the minister in question, expressing his dissatisfaction with his actions.
