SMEs: SMEDA Launches Best Business Plan Contest

This competition continues as the goal of highlighting the importance of SMEs, which play an important role in contributing to the economic prosperity of the country. To participate, existing or potential entrepreneurs will have to write a business plan including a project with a turnover not exceeding Rs 50 million. It should include a summary and be accompanied by information relating to the business description, operations management, the organization of sales and marketing, strategic planning and management, leadership, social responsibility and the environmental and financial management, among others.

An independent jury will evaluate the business plans and the participants with the best entries will be selected for presentation of their plan. Assessment will be based on specific criteria, including presentation, innovation and business acumen, marketing and research, management, viability and economic and environmental impact and the value added society.

The deadline to enter the contest is June 14, 2013. The format of the business plan can be downloaded from the website www.smeda.mu . The business plan must be submitted to the SMEDA later than August 15, 2013.

Winner of SME Best Business Plan Competition in 2013 will have a reward of Rs 100,000. The first runner-up will receive a sum of Rs 60,000 and the second, Rs 40,000.
