Porgy and Bess

Porgy and Bess staged a drama set in a fishing village. To be more precise, it is a Mauritian adaptation of the famous folk opera by Gershwin, Porgy and Bess (1935). If the place and context can imagine familiar scenes, we are talking about a show in kreol in line with the "arts community" (to the Mauritian public in villages witnessed a tragedy linked to the Love)

Twenty characters will be on stage, in the open, not to mention the musicians to sing and interact on a social phenomenon. After a couple of sessions, these characters will learn the work of "singer-actors." This is the biggest challenge for some of them. The ideas behind the show are quite noble: to promote values, Mauritian music and culture make it accessible opera through the Creole translation; develop sustainable performing arts in Mauritius ...
