Italy Recruits a Hundred Of...
Agribusiness, aquaculture, fisheries, tourism ... These sectors offer openings to a hundred Mauritians who wish to work abroad, specifically in Italy. The Ministry of Labour and the Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Mauritius currently working on a project in this direction.

"The selected candidates will receive training and placement programs for nine months in these areas in which Italy is known worldwide," says Lalini Veerasamy, project manager at IOM. The move follows an agreement for cooperation and technical assistance in relation to circular migration, signed between the two countries. That, during a visit of the Minister of Labour Shakeel Mohamed in Italy in September.
 This fact also shows that officers of his ministry will fly to Italy in October. "These officials in turn guide Mauritians who apply for the various jobs available in Italy," says the minister.
 For this program, funding to the tune of Rs 32 million from the European Union, has already been reached.
