The new Ambassador of France to Mauritius, Laurent Garnier, made this afternoon, Monday, October 7, a courtesy call to the Prime Minister. The political and economic issues were discussed at this meeting.
This is his first appointment as ambassador. Aged 46, Laurent Garnier presented this morning his credentials to the President of the Republic, Kailash Yage. Laurent Garnier has twenty years in the French civil service. Before being transferred to Mauritius, he was Director of Financial Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry.
