Mauritius value added tax receipts increased 10.2 percent to 21.1 billion rupees ($717 million) last year, said Sudhamo Lal, director-general of the Mauritius Revenue Authority.
Revenue exceeded the 20.75 billion-rupee target, Lal said in an e-mailed response to questions. The forecast for next year is 22.8 billion rupees, he said.
Total revenue from various direct and indirect taxes this fiscal year is forecasted at 52.5 billion rupees, Lal said on Jan. 19.
