Dengue: Seven New Cases Registered in 24 Hours

Thirteen new cases of dengue have been detected over the past four days, according to the Ministry of Health. More worryingly, seven people were tested positive for the fever from yesterday, Monday, March 24, and today.

According to the Ministry, which issued a statement on Tuesday, March 25, eleven of the thirteen patients come Triolet. The other two are from Pointe-aux-Piments and Morcellement Saint-André.

These figures relate to 39 the number of people infected. " All patients were clinically stable , "says the department. So far, the number of samples analysed totalled 1,140.

In addition, health officers have treated 25,249 houses against mosquitoes. The spreading of larvicides were also held in 10,047 wasteland and 37 academic and medical institutions. Exercise, along with fumigation and cleaning, is on-going.

The Department of Health says that from Wednesday, March 26, members of the Special Mobile Force lend a hand to Health Officers during these operations.
