The National Computer Board (NCB) is organising a series of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) expos on a regional basis across the country.
The first regional ICT expo will be held at the Rivière des Anguilles community centre on August 6-7 and at the Rivière du Rempart Youth Centre on August 20-21.
The objective of the regional ICT expo is to create more awareness on emerging technologies and bring ICT closer to the citizens.
The events are in line with the mission of the NCB to promote ICT developments in Mauritius.
These expos are a result of the growing success of infotech through the years, with a record number of 75,000 visitors registered at last year’s edition.
The exhibition will contain three components, namely, the e-powering people, e-pering businesses and e-powering the public sector.
Moreover,The e-powering people segment will focus on promoting ICT literacy as well as encouraging people to opt for higher-level industry-based certifications. It will include , Internet awareness in the cyber caravans, and awareness sessions on child safety online and green ICT.
