The public can choose their holidays and their leisure time freely. It certifies the efforts of the tourism industry in terms of accessibility and hospitality specific clients and provides a guarantee of an efficient and responsive to the needs of disabled people needed.
The Ministry of Tourism told the Association "Tourism and Handicap" the mission of helping its practical implementation. In Reunion, the approach was implemented in 2010 by the Dieccte (Department of Enterprise, Competition, Consumer Affairs, Labour and Employment), in partnership with IRT (Reunion Island Tourism) and Tourism and Handicaps Association.
After evaluation, two institutions were awarded the label for their conditions of access for the disabled: the hotel (restaurant) on Dimitile, located in the Entre-Deux (photo) and the Mercure Créolia, based in St. Denis. The plates were officially presented to both providers when IFTM - Top Resa by Annette Masson, president of the Association of Tourism and Handicaps in the presence of Jacqueline Farreyrol, president of Reunion Island Tourism and Didier Robert President of the Region (Regional Council).
