The team of Constance Hotels Experience has won first prize at the International Chefs' Challenge Day held last Thursday, October 20th at the Hotel School Sir Gaetan Duval in Ebony. She received her prize, a check of Rs 30,000 from the hands of the Minister of Tourism and Recreation, Michael Sik Yuen and those of Regina Maudar, president of Tourism Employees Welfare Fund (TEWF). The team from the kitchens of Constance Hotels Experience intends to pay the reward to a charity.
Among the participants: the Sugar Beach, La Pirogue, the Preskil, the Belle Mare Plage Hotel School SGD, the restaurant 27 St Louis, Attitude and Resorts Heritage Resorts and Beachcomber Training Academy.
The second prize in the competition organized by the Mauritius Chefs Association (MCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and TEWF went to the hotel Sugar Beach wins a check for Rs 20,000. The team participating in the Sugar Beach also has to pay a portion of that amount to charity.

The jury was composed of German Master Chef Thomas Gugler, carrying the King's service in Saudi Arabia, Alan Payen, President of the MCA, the Chief and Mario Mougam Periatamby of Estrac.
During the evening, Chef Thomas Gugler announced plans to hold a Top Chef TV show. It is in search of the first Top Chef Mauritius, representing the island at the Global Top Chef Show. In short, a new challenge for the ambassadors of Mauritian cuisine.
