Movitel plans to cover 80% of the population, and to invest at least U.S. $ 400 million in its first five years of operation. The company hopes to enroll about 76% of the adult population as customers.
Movitel can not reach this target in tightening the two other operators, the public company M-Cel and the South African company Vodacom on the market and the only way to achieve it would be to offer very low prices.
Movitel also promises to focus on rural areas, and will offer competitive prices. He also promised free services for the Ministry of Education.
It will offer free Internet access to 4500 public schools, 32% of the total general education schools, technical schools and teacher education in the country.
The majority shareholder of Movitel, Viettel is the Vietnamese society, which controls 70% of the operator and is owned by the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence.
Movitel is currently the largest provider of mobile services in Vietnam, 44% of the market manager.
Its partner, which owns the other 30% Movitel called SPI, a holding company for Frelimo, the ruling party in Mozambique.
