Those who intend to pursue a career in finance or accounting can go to ACCA Career Fair from 23 to 25 February in the Conference Room of the Cybertour1 Ebony. Twenty large companies and training institutes will be present. (Photos: Ramdin Madhavi, Country Manager of ACCA Mauritius).

Mauritian branch of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has decided to organize a career fair for those who want a career in finance and accounting. A first in Mauritius. Schoolchildren, students, accountants and financial are invited to learn about the possibilities and conditions of employment and training with an ACCA certification, and on the development prospects of these careers.

The ACCA meets and twenty large companies and training institutes. The list of organizations participating in this Career Fair includes several major accounting firms, including local branches of the "Big Five" consulting firms in finance, one of the largest banks in Mauritius, a major local and regional conglomerates, and some leading training institutes in Mauritius.

Will also be present, companies business process outsourcing (BPO) which are branches of Mauritian multinational companies of the financial processing.

All these companies and all these institutions are partners of the ACCA, as employers encouraging ACCA training of their cadres, which centers offering training leading to graduation ACCA. They have also certified members of ACCA among their managers. ACCA Mauritius has obtained the support of several sponsors for this first: BAI Co. (Mtius) Ltd Global Business and Cim are the Platinum sponsors while the State Bank of Mauritius and the Charles Telfair Institute, the Gold Sponsors.

Participation of large companies BP specialized in financial transactions (Ceridian and Accenture) illustrates the growing importance of outsourcing such operations. ACCA Career Fair is a response to a need to better understand training needs and recruitment in this sector. "Developing skills and maximize employment opportunities and career development are essential elements of the mission of the ACCA," says Madhavi Ramdin, Country Manager of ACCA Mauritius.

The ACCA is the global organization of accountants. Founded in 1904, it offers to those seeking to develop a high level career in accounting, finance and management, training curricula to meet the needs of industry. ACCA members and oversees 147 000 424 000 students in 170 countries.

ACCA Career Fair, available free, is open from 10h to 15h Thursday 23 and Friday 24, from 10am to 13pm and Saturday, February 25.
