The new government formed in Mali has the objective of restoring political stability and allow the Malian army and countries of the region to resolve the crisis that has plunged the country since the North came under the domination of the Tuareg rebels .
The military took power held by the three ministries in charge of security, under a decree signed by Prime Minister and Acting President, which was read on national television.
The rest of the government consists of civilians, mostly technocrats and Malians living abroad during the presidency of Amadou Toumani Toure, the military ousted.
The United Front for safeguarding democracy and the Republic (FDR), which brings together some fifty political parties and civil society organizations, said he was not consulted on the formation of this government.
"Soldiers occupy key positions when they should be returned to the army barracks," deplores the FDR in a statement which states that, while disapproving of the composition of the government team, he would not seek to prevent working.
