After 34 years of service in the banking sector, Jairaj Sonoo knows the ultimate recognition with his appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the State Bank of Mauritius, one of the largest banks in Mauritius.
He succeeds Gautam Vir who has abandoned this after three years of service. The SBM is not unknown for Sonoo Jairaj. This is sort of his house. In 1979 he enters the bank. Gradually, it will accumulate and promote responsibility in different branches of SBM. Then, he was appointed Manager of SBM headquarters in Port Louis.
Building on the experience and skill that he demonstrated during his career, Jairaj Sonoo is called in 2006 to take over the branch of SBM in India. Based in Mumbai, he was also responsible for overseeing the operations of the SBM in other cities of the Great Peninsula including Chennai.
Back in Mauritius, Jairaj Sonoo was given at the Board of SBM or SBM within the Asset Management.
Subsequently, Jairaj Sonoo leaves the SBM. It was in 2010. It was for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to Bramer Bank. But it was back to better jump. Two years later he is back in force to SBM for the position of Chief Executive Officer.
With the departure of Jairaj Sonoo is Ashraf Esmael, expert in financial services, which took over management of the Bank Bramer.
