In line with its objective to facilitate and promote the development of the ICT industry, the National Computer Board (NCB) has compiled a new and updated directory of ICT companies in the island.

The objective is to provide information on ICT products and services offered and facilitate business relationships. The third edition of the directory includes 100 additional pages in comparison to the previous edition.

The directory includes details of export and non-export oriented companies and their respective fields of activity. According to the guideline, there are some 600 companies who are involved in the ICT sector and they are involved in a wide range of activities including software development, call centre, BPO and sales, networking and other support services.

The minister of Information and Communication Technology, Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum proceeded with the launching of the directory. The minister emphasised, “The NCB Directory of ICT Companies will provide a tool that will enable us to keep an updated track of the ICT operators in the island and facilitate their visibility for improved interaction with other stakeholders.”

He added, “Moreover, this directory is a determining step towards encouraging further expansion of our ICT industry, as it represents focal points for companies, individuals, job seekers and potential investors to identify the available local or international expertise most adapted to their business or other needs”, he added.
