Opening of the FIFA Congress: Grandiose!
A great show, representing different facets of Mauritian multicultural society was organized at the center Swami Vivekananda at Pailles, Thursday at the opening of the 63rd Congress of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).

Fusion music, African, Asian and modern dances were in the program. This event was preceded by the screening of a video showing the various natural sites in the country and infrastructure development. A stamp inspired by the famous 'Blue Penny' and hit the FIFA logo was launched on this occasion.

The Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam who performed the opening ceremony in the presence of FIFA president Sepp Blatter. In his speech, the prime minister said that football transcends barriers and it is important to have a team to maintain unity.

Sepp Blatter, he argued that the country has come since Maurice loves football.

Sepp Blatter welcomes Mauritian hospitality

"We are here to celebrate and commemorate the Mauritian hospitality. Maurice is not only known for its tourism but also as a hub of football, "said Sepp Blatter, FIFA President in his speech.

In his address to the forum Sepp Blatter thanked the Prime Minister, Dr Navin Ramgoolam and the President of the Republic, Kailash Yage, for reception by the people of Mauritius to FIFA delegates.

"Thanks to the people of Mauritius for your hospitality and generosity that allowed us to feel like home. This country is a paradise on earth! "Addressing the delegates of 209 countries, Sepp Blatter should welcome them before expressing his joy to meet again to discuss and vote on the implementation of the decisions for the Future of FIFA while sharing the same passion that unite all fans "the beautiful game".

"We can be proud of our institutions because our philosophy that the formation and organization of competitions, including the biggest event that captures the attention of all that is passionate about the World Cup," said Blatter.

The FIFA president recalled the role of football as a catalyst to work for progress in the social. Sepp Blatter revealed that Maurice put his mark in football through the many programs launched with the "Football for Health" which "are real school of life for young people."

Navin Ramgoolam: "A new era for the Mauritian football"

In his speech the Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam praised FIFA "that after its creation 109 years here in Paris wanted to hold its congress in Mauritius 63." Navin Ramgoolam has also made a fervent tribute to Ram Ruhee who was a member of the IOC and FIFA. The PM said that football is present in Mauritius for a long time and that has already qualified for the finals of the African Cup in 1974. He also highlighted the collaboration of FIFA for the development of football in Mauritius with the Goal Project.

Blatter pays tribute to Ram Ruhee

The FIFA Congress is an international event. Delegates from around the world (209 members) and it requires a lot of work ahead to accommodate undisturbed.
