The sails of these have been previously painted by the students of Fashion and Design Institute, located in Ebony. These vessels will be handled by children who are sailing with the Pointe Jerome Sailing Club .
Conferences
The commanders of the ships and their crews will be received by the Ministry of Tourism and officials of the MTPA. Against payment of a small fee, members of the public can visit the buildings.
During the week Dutch, historical conferences are planned. Particular attention will be of Admiral Van Warwick, who discovered in 1598 and Maurice Simon van der Stel, governor's son Aadrian Van der Stel and Marie Lievens, from Batavia in Indonesia. The mother of the latter, Monica, was an Indian from Goa. The birth of Simon van der Stel in 1639, one year after the establishment of a Dutch colony in Mauritius, was the first to be officially registered in the island.
Simon van der Stel, the first Mauritian Métis returned to Holland at the age of nine. Adult, he was the first governor of the province of Cape Town, South Africa, and gave its name to the wine Stellenbosch valley that produces excellent wines also popular in Mauritius.
The Dutch week will also provide an opportunity for the MTPA to organize a fashion show in collaboration with the Fashion and Design Institute It is expected that the Dutch models are taking part and are, in addition, the creation of a young designer in their country.
When sailing resume the sea, they will sail to Vieux Grand Port, where the yacht Admiral Van Warwick Maurice docked for the first time and cast anchor at the Fort Frederick Kendrick.
