A budget of Rs 900,000, drawn from the Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF), will focus on the rehabilitation of market Rose-Hill.

This is what the Mayor Andre Toussaint announced at the meeting of the city council, in response to an inquiry from Councillor Karen Foo Kune about the unhealthiness of the market and the issues raised by gardeners.

Karen Foo Kune drew the Council's attention to the decrepit state of the ceiling of the vegetable section with cobwebs, dust or dry paint falling on visitors and products. She has produced pictures of pieces of dried paint that fell on the burlap sack covering products.

The counselor wanted to know what measures will be initiated to remedy this situation poses a problem for gardeners and visitors. An amount of Rs 900 000 will be dedicated to the beautification of the old market. The work will involve the rehabilitation of the roof by replacing the profiled sheet, repainting walls, installation of safes for the gardeners can rangers their working tools, among others.

The budget for the renovation market Rose Hill will be disbursed from the Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF).The counselor Kingsley Lai intervened to draw attention to the fact that the board has to decide on the idea of ??building a new modern market responding to economic and environmentally friendly standards, as projects development will be expected to achieve near Market Rose Hill over the coming years, including light rail.

On another note, Councillor Anita Arlapen yesterday filed an urgent motion for the construction of toilets in the crematorium Chebel, motion seconded by his colleague Devesh Budlorun.Counselors Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill also get an allowance of Rs 500 for phone calls and Rs 5000 for laptops.
