Promotional Campaign In India...
The destination Mauritius was in the spotlight at the Lakme India Fashion Week, an event in partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA). At that time, the country is associated with the world of fashion with the help of Indian designer Ranna Gill. Through this initiative, the Office of Tourism hopes to attract mainly young Indian customers.

Minister of Tourism and Recreation , Michael Sik Yuen , led a delegation of Mauritius in India as part of a targeted marketing campaign to increase the visibility of the destination. Indeed, Mauritius was the first destination to have associated with the world of fashion in India , targeting both the industry and consumers. MTPA said it was important to target the Indian youth and fashion segment .Since the beginning of this year, 36,360 Indian tourists came to Mauritius, which represents an increase of 7.1 % compared to the same period in 2012. Therefore , the Office of Tourism became partner of Lakme Fashion Week.
Mauritius was represented there by Indian designer Ranna Gill. Moreover, Michael Sik Yuen said he was more than satisfied with this collaboration. "His collection showed the cultural diversity of Mauritius, our beaches and turquoise sea. We had a very good feedback , and we will further strengthen this partnership, " he launched on this occasion .According to the Minister of Tourism and Recreation , Indians interested in Maurice destination because it offers them a range of activities including leisure , spas and renowned "ideal for relaxation not to mention the beautiful scenery " healthy environment . The minister also reiterated the potential of the Indian market, indicating that it is very important to target young Indians for more visibility for the destination, where the association of the MTPA to Ranna Gill for this event. In the same vein, several working sessions were also held with tour operators and media.
There was discussion of various segments that should be put forward as the Spa , Golf and MICE . In addition, the Office of Tourism of India will soon launch an online training software , Mauritius Grand Master, for its employees and tour operators. Tourists seeking initial information about the destination will also be targeted through video "Visit Mauritius Now" on YouTube.Currently in China as part of the campaign to promote tourism, the minister responsible met over fifty Chinese tour operators in Shanghai and Beijing. The meeting, jointly organized by the MTPA and Air Mauritius , to provide more information about the destination Mauritius purpose .
The development of golf , how to attract young Chinese athletes and tourists, among others, were at the center of discussions. On this occasion, the Minister met the filmmaker Baimei Yu An agreement in principle has been reached for the shooting of a film with the advent of Chinese stars , including Deng Dhao , Tang Li Mi and Sun to the Ministry of Tourism , considering the strong growth of Chinese tourist arrivals , " it is likely that the 2013 target to host 40,000 Chinese tourists will be reached by the end of this year."
