The signing took place at the Creole Institute, which is located in Anse aux Pins, in the district in Cape Town. The signatories are: the Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain Saint Ange, the president of the Regional Council, Didier Robert, the ambassador of France, Géneviève Iancu and the President of the General Council of Reunion Nassimah Dindar.
The latter had launched the idea of such a project in the presence of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, James Alix Michel, who had paid an official visit to the island of Reunion in July.
Nassimah Dindar said the Creole International Institute may be used to influence the Creole world and it will be open to all islands with a Creole-speaking culture. The President of the Regional Council of Reunion, Didier Robert, said he will continue to work to strengthen cooperation between the Creole people. The Minister Alain Saint Ange expressed in a short speech of appreciation of such a project that will function as an important tool for the Creole people.
After the signing ceremony, books by authors Reunion were handed over to the director of the Creole Institute. In addition, publications Reunion authors, Seychelles, Mauritius, will be available at the Creole Institute International. The curious public will discover through these books diversity Creole islands.
