Jobs Abroad: 2000 Vacancies

Canada, Italy, Switzerland, France, India ... Many countries interested in hosting Mauritians in 2014. 2000 positions are, in fact, to be filled in various sectors. 

The largest employers remain cruise ships. Some 1,500 jobs are to be taken from 5 January, says Chandra Seepaul, director of recruitment agency CSCS International Manning. Except cooks, bartenders and therapists, among others, employers are looking for accountants, doctors, nurses, photographers, responsible for public relations and gym instructors, including, he says. 

The contract, for a period of six to eight months depending on the position is renewable. As the starting salary varies between Rs 40,000 and Rs 150,000 or more, depending on experience ... In addition, thirty Forklift Operators positions are to be filled between January and February in Canada. Those recruited will also be called upon to act as handlers in stores. Among the criteria: be between 20 and 40 years, have a good command of English and a license for forklifts.

On the other hand, an agreement with the Italian government plans to hire Mauritians for seasonal jobs in this country. "It concerns the training and placement of 70 people in the field of fisheries and tourism," says Chandra Seepaul. The World Health Organization and the International Labour Organization is currently recruiting, in turn, auditors, scientists, technicians, consultants and statisticians for their offices in Geneva, Lyon and Delhi.
