The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology issued a statement this evening to inform the public that following the torrential rains that hit the country today, Sunday April 21 , there will be no classes in all public and private pre-primary, primary, secondary institutions, SEN (Special Education Needs) schools, technical and vocational education centers, including those of MITD and Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd, as well as higher education institutions on Monday April 22, 2024, in order to allow an assessment of the state of the institutions concerned and their cleaning.
“Students in Grades 1 to 8 will be able to follow classes on MBC channels, while for those in Grades 9 to 13, classes will be taught online.”
Heads of establishments and non-teaching staff will have to go to their respective schools/centers to ensure that they are in condition for a normal resumption of classes on Tuesday April 23, 2024.
