The government is committed to maintaining an uninterrupted supply of essential goods, so that whatever challenges the global context may present, Mauritius remains resilient.

This was the essence of the message from Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on Monday, May 6, during the ceremony to launch construction work on a State Trading Corporation (STC) warehouse, at Riche Terre Business and Industrial Park.

With an estimated cost of 1 billion rupees, this project covers approximately 18,000 m². The Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training, Soodesh Callichurn, the minister of Trade and the Consumers Protection, Dorine Chukowry, the PPS, Sharvanand Ramkaun, and General Direcar of the STC, the Rajiv Servansingh, were also at the ceremony.

This project is seen as a strategic step towards transforming Mauritius into a pivotal trade hub for the region and strengthening economic and trade ties with Africa and Asia.
