The three parastatal bodies, whose budget well exceeds ten billion rupees, are the Central ElectricityBoard, Metro Express Ltd and Airport of Mauritius Ltd.

The Central Water Authority remains the poor child of its investment projections.

The Central Electricity Board ranks first in three-year investment projections in the 2024-2025 budget documents. No less than twenty projects have been identified by the treasury to be financed by special funds with an envelope estimated at Rs 18.2 billion.

For phase 4 of the Metro-express, linking Curepipe to La Vigie and the extension to Gare du Nord, Finance projects an investment of Rs 11 billion. These two projects for the extension of the metro are currently under study.

In third position, we find Airport of Mauritius Limited with a budget of Rs 10 billion over three years injected by special funds. In the annexes, it was mentioned that AML plans to build a new control tower and expand the Plaine Corail airport among others. The Rodrigues Public Utilities Corporation will obtain Rs 940 million over three years for water distribution and desalination.

National Social Living Development Ltd is also included in this list for phase one of the 8,000 social housing project. Rs 6.8 billion will be injected there until 2026.

The poor child of its expenditure through special funds, remains, the Central Water Authority, only Rs 22 million have been identified for the replacement of worn pipes.
