As every year, on the occasion of National Day 2025, the Mauritian government has honored several individuals for their contributions in various fields.
The highest distinction, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK), has been awarded to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in Mauritius as the guest of honor for the 57th Independence Day celebrations.
The Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GOSK), the second-highest distinction, has been awarded to:
- Dr. Farhad Ismaël Aumeer, for his contributions in the medical and social fields,
- Philippe Thomas, for his outstanding contribution to music,
- Surendra Dayal, for his dedication to education, politics, and social causes,
- Suttyhudeo Tengur, for his role in education and the promotion of trade unionism,
- Jean-Maurice Labour, for his work in religious and social domains,
- Dr. Vasantrao Gujadhur, for his significant contributions to the medical field and public health management in Mauritius,
- Maxime Hector Espitalier-Noël, for his contributions to the business sector, among others.
