The world's largest man-made excavation - a Kennecott Utah Copper Bingham Canyon Mine- has been shut down by an enormous landslide that smashed roads and buildings and left two-thirds of the pit base buried.
Located on Just Room Enough Island is this quaint little cottage; the island is touted as one of the smallest (if not THE smallest) islands in the world (the lone tree gives it island status). It was built by the Sizeland family in the 1950s as a weekend getaway.

The Wave is located on the Colorado Plateau, near the Utah and Arizona border. The area is a gallery of twisted sandstone, resembling deformed pillars, cones, mushrooms and other odd creations.
