Mauritius Labour Party elects the new executive team

The Labour Party held its executive committee yesterday chaired by the leader of the party, Dr Navin Ramgoolam, accompanied by Deputy Leader Dr Rashid Beebeejaun and new party president, Mr Patrick Assirvaden.

The executive committee elected Mr Lormus Bundhoo as the new Secretary General. Mr Ah Fat Lan Hing Choy, the treasurer of the party, and Miss Nita Deerpalsing, the communications director, were reelected.

Mr Rohit Gutty was elected as the Assistant Treasurer. The committee elected Mr Suren Dayal as the general administrative secretary and Mrs Sheila Bappoo as the Director of the Women’s League.

Mr Dhiraj Khamajeet was elected as the Director of the Young Labour League and his assistant is Dr Rajesh Jeetah. The new Director of the Policy Forum is Mr Cader Sayed Hossen, his assistant being Mr Pradeep Peetumber.

Dr Arvind Boolell was elected the Director of Field Operations. The Director of International Relations is Mr Elwyn. The Director of the Research Unit is now Mr Devanad Ritoo.

Vice presidents: Dr Abu Kasenally, Dr Vasant Bunwaree, Mr Satish Faugoo and Mr Deva Virahsawmy. The Assistant General Secretary is now Miss Stephanie Anquetil and assistant Director of Communication is Mr Shakeel Mohamed.
