Information and communication technology is poised to become the first pillar of the Mauritian economy by 2015, l’Express reported, citing ICT Minister Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum.
Technology’s share in the country’s gross domestic product was 5.7 percent in 2009 and the target is for it to exceed 7 percent in 2011, the minister said in an interview, according to the Port Louis-based newspaper.
