More than 350 employees of Infinity BPO Ltd were not paid their salaries for three months with the former CEO of the company, Mr Jean Suzanne, claiming that a major fraud had been committed at the company.
The Municipality of Beau Bassin/Rose Hill recently entered a case in the Commercial Court against Infinity which prompted Judge Paul Lam Shang Leen to nominate Mr Boodhna as the provisional liquidator.
Judge Lam Shang Leen also issued a Mareva Order against Mr Suzanne and another former director of the company, Mr Gerald Bouillaud.
The assets of Mr Suzanne – his Aston Martin, a bungalow in Poste la Fayette, Ducatti motorcycle, three Kawasaki motorcycles and a plot land – have been frozen.
The Aston Martin was returned to the Barclays Leasing Company Ltd and will also be sold in the near future because the car was bought by the company with a loan from Barclays Bank.
