Fortis Clinique Darné launched its new super-speciality dental clinic.
To celebrate this, they are offering a special dental package. This comprises a panoramic X-ray, scaling, polishing and consultation with a dental surgeon at a promotional rate of Rs 2,000 instead of the normal rate of Rs 3,000.
The launch ceremony was conducted by the minister of Health and Quality of Life, Lormus Bundhoo. The new dental clinic is in line with Fortis Clinique Darné’s strategy to offer comprehensive tertiary level healthcare services.
“The new dental clinic will ensure that the hospital offers complete health service under one roof,” said Dr Simmardeep Singh Gill, chief operating officer at Fortis Clinique Darné.
According to him, the new clinic will take dental care in Mauritius to new heights. “It is pertinent to add that the new set-up will go a long way in promoting Mauritius as a hub for medical value travel,” he said.
Highlighting the fact that almost 75 per cent of the population suffers from some form of gum disease, minister Bundhoo said, “There is a need for high-technology services in regards to dentistry.”
According to the minister, this initiative of Fortis Clinique Darné shows the contribution of the private sector to public welfare.
“This is a good effort from the private sector towards the healthcare industry but this should be done at the right price. Our aim is to promote quality care in dentistry and it is importanat that all Mauritians should benefit from this service,” said Bundhoo.
The new dental clinic will be headed by Dr Jerome Bhunjun, senior dental surgeon, with the assistance of Dr Leenakshi Basant Rai.
