"We already have a flight to Shanghai, but in 2012 we will have 2-3 direct flights to Shanghai. A bilateral cooperation agreement with China has been signed to this effect to 14 flights a week. But it will not for now. Initially, we are working on several strategies to attract more customers to the Chinese outbound market. It is true that in China, we do not really know our country and we must diversify our product. Mauritius should have more visibility in this emerging market, and that is why we are workingon E-marketing, "said the minister.
To increase the visibility of Mauritius in China, the country will host the organization of the marriage of twenty Chinese couples in Mauritius in early 2012, as well as the Miss China Pageant in April.
Minister Michael Sik Yuen also pointed out that there not just beautiful beaches and sun in Mauritius, but also other very interesting places that tourists can visit. The Minister also took this opportunity to announce the opening of the hotel Centara in October 2012 and will be adapted to Chinese culture, like the Angsana Hotel will host its first guests in early 2012. The Chinese delegation, which left Mauritius yesterday, includes investors of the company Shenzhen Energy Group , the second largest energy company in the world after that of EDF (France). Note that Shenzhen is the fourth largest economy in China.
