St. Aubin: Special Sugars, Ethanol...
In line with the Maurice Ile Durable concept, the sugar group is engaged in the production of electricity, ethanol and organic fertilizer. It will also market specialty sugars and a sugar loaf in great demand in India

The "jaggery," the "khandasary" juice, syrup, honey, cane, ethanol and bio-fertilizer ... This is the list of products that now sells the Saint Aubin.

This new approach fits into the agro-tourism project entitled SABIO for Saint Aubin Artisanal and Biological Integrated Operations , launched on Wednesday 21 December by the Prime Minister. With a total cost of Rs $ 400 million, this project aims to provide maximum value to the sugar cane grown on the lands of the group.

The goal is to diversify the sugarcane industry in the group to promote trade in organic products exclusively. It is "inspired" by the new company slogan: "Saint Aubin - 1819 - From tradition to innovation" teams that Guimbeau Patrick, general manager of the group, created this project.

With the launch of the project "SABIO" means the Saint Aubin, among others, develop the tourism potential of the region including a visit to the candy traditional gastronomical and cultural journey "The Tea Route." With this project, group also hopes it will be perceived as an "eco living museum" both by tourists and Mauritians.

This is a new factory, created from a remnant, equipped with machines from India that will manufacture the Saint Aubin "jaggery ", a traditional Indian sugar loaf to nutritional values. The "khandasary", for its part, is a sugar crystal cooked in the open air and crystallized naturally.

Following the guideline concept of 'Maurice Ile Durable " Saint Aubin is also launching this project SABIO in the production of electricity it will use and resell it to the Central Electricity Board (CEB).
