The Ti Vegas, organizer of the early history of poker tournaments in the Indian Ocean region will receive this prestigious tournament in a brand new room from 25 February to 4 March 2012.
PMU Poker, a world champion and a star of reality TV
Poker PMU decided to associate its brand for three years that the tournament. It will allow French players to qualify on its website but also to deal with all members of its professional team who will travel for the event including: Guillaume Darcourt (holds a wristband World Poker Tour), Philippe Ktorza (the recent 25th World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes) and Jean-Philippe Rohr (former defender of the team of France Footbal).
Elie Payan, world champion of poker Omaha (variant 4 cards), will for opportunity to play and present the bracelet world champion.
Finally, "Mounds", hero of Koh-Lanta, the Adventurer of Love and the House of the Bluff will be present all week to host the event and play the tournament.
A tournament open to Mauritius for a total price estimated 10 million rupees: With the entry fee the cheapest of all the World Poker Tour circuit (46,000 rupees), the organizers are betting a possible access for all.
So every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, Ti Vegas offers qualifications to 600 rupees (+ rebuy and addon at 250 rupees each for the supersatellite Friday at 5500 rupees directly qualified for the Main Event. For 250 players registered for the main event, the overall prize pool is estimated at 10 million rupees to divide among the top 30 of the tournament.
Qualifications and TV coverage in the world:
The famous Aviation Club de France Champs Elysees (8 February), but also the poker rooms Gruissan (France, 12 February) Antananarivo (Madagascar), Dakar (Senegal) and Marrakech will host all of the qualifications for this tournament.
It is thus in total a minimum of 50 qualified players will land in Mauritius in late February for a tournament where nearly 200 players from all countries are expected: France, England, South Africa, Morocco, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Madagascar, Reunion, Seychelles, Spain. The players and their guests are in turn mostly housed at the Grand Lux Daube Island.
The Final Table tournament, March 4, will be filmed and aired a few weeks later in Europe and the Indian Ocean.
