This was stated by the Tertiary Education minister Rajesh Jeetah in a statement to journalists on Monday at the Mauritius International Knowledge Investment Forum (MIKIF). “The designs for the architecture are complete and engineers are now working on the technical aspects of the plans. If all goes well, constructions should start around the middle of the year,” said Jeetah.
The minister also spoke on other forthcoming developments in the education field for Mauritius. “The University of Bordeaux will soon open a medical school in Mauritius and talks are going on for the implementation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here,” he added.
“UoM is also negotiating the implementation of a Swiss medical school as well as a veterinary school. These are currently in the process of validation,” said Jeetah.
