Scaffolding: JR School Will Train With Singaporean experts

There were too many accidents on construction sites. Given this situation, the Minister of Labour, Mohammed Shakeel, had said that good training specifically in the field of scaffolding was necessary. In an interview with lexpress.mu, he stressed the importance of retaining the expertise of Singaporeans in this area.

In March this year that these training sessions will begin. The ministry has initiated talks to retain the expertise of Singapore.

Rajcoomar Jhurry, director of JR School, however, says he is still waiting for an "authorization" of the Ministry of Labour. For training purposes, they are experts of the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore who will travel to Mauritius.

These courses will run for five days and will be provided to site supervisors. The latter will have 9 hours of classes each day. " They will then be able to verify if the assembly of these structures is done according to standards to ensure worker safety. They will also impart their knowledge to workers on site , "said Rajcoomar Jhurry.

The registration fee is Rs 36,000 per candidate. These courses, after which students receive a certificate, will be provided in the new premises of JR School at Solitude.
