There were 26 teams to compete for the prize of best project engineering. Students of the University of Mauritius and the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development worked in teams to deliver their projects on " More is Less: Practical daily-life example of efficiency improvement in the use of energy, water or material " .
On the sidelines of the vision " Maurice Ile Durable "government, students were able to use their imagination to design their projects based on the concepts of renewable energy, recycling or the environment. The winning team, composed of Tejsree Bhangeeruthee, Rajiv and Murwanth Gulshani Jamansing, presented his project to recycle household water through a solar system. It is to recycle domestic wastewater for reuse it later. The other two teams had proposed a system of filtration of wastewater and biogas production for households.
All three teams have received a check for Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000 or Rs 5 000selon their classification. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius, Professor Anwar Hussein Subratty, congratulated the students "who were able to work as a team."
The Minister of Education and Human Resources, Vasant Bunwaree, urged the students present to adopt " a responsible attitude towards nature "and stressed the need" to change the mentality of Mauritius to teach citizens how to use our ecologically natural resources . "
Two students from the school of jewelery MITD also received a reward. Lokye Ravior Ramprakash won the Design Award Certificate and Jeff Bellehumeur, the Ravior Best Craftsman Award Certificate.
